5 Av. Cozumel, 77600!Venus DeLite was born Adam Guerra on September 5th, 1983 in Los Angeles California. This was the same year that Madonna had released her first album. Venus’ unique love for Madonna started at the age of 15 when he discovered Madonna’s First Album in her mother’s CD collection and decided to play it. The experience would change her life forever. Shortly after she announced to her mother that when she grew up she wanted to be Madonna. To become that was a long journey ahead of her.
In 2002 Venus started performing as Madonna in various clubs in Los Angeles, however, it wasn’t until she competed in the infamous “Drag Idol” Drag Competition that her career took off. She had been crowned “Drag Idol” with a record of 4 times over the next 6 years. At the age of 21 she was given her own show at VIP Nightclub in Riverside California She would call the show “Flawless” , which lasted for 6 years. Around the same time, she was cast as the youngest cast member of the legendary Drag Revue “The DreamGirls Revue”, Socal’s longest-running prestigious Drag Revue.
Living in Hollywood does come with its encounters with celebrities and the Hollywood studio. In 2004 Venus was cast in her first Major Motion Film “Miss Congeniality Part 2” with Sandra Bullock. Venus was cast as Gwen Stefani. She was also cast in the film “The Comebacks” as Madonna. Venus would also work with other celebrities including Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Gena Davis, and Elton John.
In 2009, RuPaul’s Drag Race changed the Drag Community and Industry. Drag had now become Pop Culture and highly demanded entertainment. In 2010 Venus was cast in Season 3 on RPDR. Venus had entered the competition with high hopes, however, the show had other plans that were not supportive for Venus and she was let go early in the competition. Fans were shocked and even to this day want to get to know Venus a lot more.
Venus however was not discouraged from the experience and continued to pursue other opportunities to be featured on television. Venus felt that the only way the world would accept Drag was for there to be more visibility of it. Venus then would pursue television shows that had a massive and diverse audience.
Her iconic appearances on the shows “Botched” and “My Strange Addiction” were the stuff of legend. Creating a massive cult following for her, Venus showed the fans of Drag that not everything in the Drag world was glamorous and that there were many challenges in pursuing the Drag Lifestyle. Venus was met with heavy criticism from the Drag Community about these television appearances, however, for the long term Venus knew she would have the last laugh.
Venus would go on to perform at Oscars Cabaret for 5 years in Palm Springs. During Covid Venus had suffered a massive seizure and was faced with bringing her health into good shape. With the blond ambition that Venus always had, she was determined to bring her art back to the way she had always wanted it to be. In 2023 on an appearance in the successful podcast “Very Delta” she announced that she wanted to be known as “The Comeback Girl”
In October of 2023 Madonna herself personally wrote a letter to Venus calling her “My incredible #1 Impersonator”. Through the wilderness, the adversity, Venus like Madonna has shown us the she is a “Survivor” and is rightly so “The Comeback Girl”
